Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Explore case studies to clear up some common misconceptions about pain management and delve into lesser-known topics, like pharmacology. You’ll cover issues like opioid dosages and duration, discrimination, individualized pain management, and multi-modal pain management approaches. You’ll also discover the differences between addition, tolerance, and dependence as they relate to pain management.

Objectives

  1. Compare opioids equianalgesia dosages (PO and IV) and give opioid peak and duration times.
  2. Define and distinguish between the following terms: addiction, tolerance, and dependence.
  3. Identify four areas of "total pain" in patients and establish patient driven pain goals.
  4. Explain how different types of pain require different multi-modal pain management approaches.
