Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Did you know that oncology APNs can be fined for improper disposal of medications? Join us for an in-depth discussion on the impact of unused medication disposal on water quality and safety. You’ll learn about the ethical and legal implications of this issue, how to find resources in your area, and how to create a plan for your practice.

Objectives

  1. Critically appraise the APN’s practice to identify the environmental risks of medications prescribed.
  2. Explain the need for safe medication disposal with clients and family members.
  3. Generate a plan to provide the safest method to manage the disposal of unused medications in the participant’s geographic region.
  4. Explain the legal and ethical issues surrounding medication disposal.
