Cancer anorexia-cachexia is a multifactorial syndrome negatively affecting patient functional performance, quality of life, and survival. Hallmark signs include reduced appetite and weight loss associated with muscle wasting. Management challenges include delayed detection and a paucity of effective interventions. Improving outcomes requires the coordinated effort of the entire supportive care team, particularly oncology nurses, as they are on the front line of patient interactions and uniquely positioned to identify early signs of cancer anorexia-cachexia.

This program is presented by Helsinn, in conjunction with ONS:Edge, Inc., a subsidiary of the Oncology Nursing Society.
