This symposium, presented by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, will provide an opportunity for nurses to expand their knowledge about treatments and side effects management for blood cancer patients.
Through a presentation of case studies and interactive audience discussion, best practices for nursing management will be shared. On the registration form, nurses will have the opportunity to select the two of four case studies that will be presented. The cases will focus on Myeloma, Chronic Lymphoid Leukemia, Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and Follicular Lymphoma. Important themes that will be highlighted throughout each case including treatment and side effect management, effective communication tools for educating patients about clinical trials, and referring patients to appropriate financial resources to assist them in affording their therapy. Q & A as well as small group discussion will be incorporated. While two cases will be discussed in detail during the session, all four scenarios developed by our expert panel will be included in the participant workbook as an ongoing reference, which will be available as a virtual lecture on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) website by late spring 2015. The program will last 90 minutes. Please register at www.LLS.org/ONS2015.
This program is sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with support from Teva Oncology.
